Blew's ConstructionThe new Richard E. Ostrander West Valley Community Library was designed to replace the existing undersized facility and to create an open and inviting environment for patrons to access the amenities of the library. Within the new building is an expansive Computer Area, a Study Area that also allows for small group gatherings and a large Stacks Area. The dedicated Reading Area has a fireplace situated within a rock wall flanked by built-in benches. The Teen’s Area was provided with a curving computer counter and booth seating where teens can gather. In the Children’s Area there is a computer center and a gathering space for story time. To create a fun and interactive experience for the children there are dragonfly lights suspended from a soffit clad in clouds, mouse and cheese light fixtures over the computer center and a bench with a jungle motif in the story area.
