The Veterinary Technology and Automotive Improvement project was undertaken to increase the space and functionality of YVC’s Veterinary Technology Program. Within the existing campus Technology Complex, a space was renovated to serve as the new home for the Automotive Lab/Classroom. The area vacated by this relocation provided the necessary space to enhance the teaching facilities of the Veterinary Technology Program.

The new and improved Veterinary Technology facilities include a Surgery and Surgical Prep Room, a Clinical Pathology Lab, a Procedural Lab, a Testing Room, Cat and Dog Kennel Spaces, an Exotics Room, and an Animal Wash Room. The new surgical room is equipped with viewing windows that allow students to observe from the Surgical Prep Room, the Pathology Lab, and the Procedure Lab. The Kennels and the Exotics Room were rearranged to provide a quieter and less stressful environment for the animals housed within. The new Procedure Lab has allowed animals to be examined at specialized state-of-the-art treatment stations.
