Sunnyside Library: Yakima Valley Libraries

The Sunnyside Library Renovation project breathed new life into this aging 1962 building. The improvements include replacement of finishes throughout, as well as lighting (both standard and decorative) and restrooms. The existing meeting room was renewed and made welcoming with the addition of windows and a fireplace wall. The new meeting room is anticipated to host activities such as special children’s programs, book club meetings and home school gatherings. All of the library’s cabinetry was replaced using a combination new and a host of repurposed fixtures donated by Solarity Credit Union. A defined Kid’s Area was created which features a custom designed three-dimensional dragon themed mural. The new Teen Area includes two Study Rooms which provide space for group project work, tutoring and any number of learning opportunities.
