La Escuelita (Early Learning Center): La Casa Hogar

The construction of the new La Escuelita – Early Learning Center was made possible through generous community support.  The center serves under-resourced children ages 2-5, who would not otherwise have access to pre-school education.  The building provides a single large classroom along with a small office and two restrooms.  Care was taken during the design process to provide very flexible floor plan in order to allow staff to reorganize the space to keep pace with ever change educational recommendations.

The north elevation, facing the play area, features a beautiful mural collaboratively designed and painted with local artist, Christie Tirado of Tirado Art, the La Casa Parent Committee and staff.  The serves as a reminder of community, resilience, growth, and learning.
